What it does
Private RDP is designed for controlled or temporary remote-access scenarios where you want a task-oriented RDP connection through Tailscale without leaving the normal Tailscale application permanently installed on the remote computer.
When to use the normal Tailscale app
If installing Tailscale on both computers is acceptable, the official Tailscale client is usually the simplest option. Install it on the server and remote computer, join both devices to the appropriate tailnet, and connect to the server using its private Tailscale address.
Where Private RDP fits
Private RDP is intended for temporary or controlled access scenarios such as accountants, support staff, contractors or users who only need a specific remote-desktop workflow.
Private RDP is an independent Dopadroid product. Tailscale is a separate product and company. Dopadroid is not affiliated with or endorsed by Tailscale Inc.
